What Are Spiritual Gifts?

To be honest, I have tried getting a few blogs going & then I would just lose interest in it. I think I was maybe trying too hard to get things just right & likely worrying about how I would write it etc. A few people said they would follow a blog if I wrote one...just on the day to day stuff. The stuff I enjoy & try to find humour in each day. I found a quote on Pinterest that I think will be my new motto:

"Be weird, Be random. Be who you are. Because you never know who would love the person you hide."

Anyway, getting to the topic of "spiritual gifts". Little story that unfolded this week. I was at my sister's house with my Mom and my mom's best friend...catching up, gabbing, having a glass of wine. The conversation takes on the topic of a childhood friend of my sister. Sadly, this friend - Suzanne - just passed away from lung cancer. My sister started talking about Suzanne & another friend, Brenda (who passed away quite a few years ago) & how they camped in Suzanne's back yard & just the fond memories she had of that time.

So...a week to the day (which is today) I go to my Mom's for a visit. While I am at Mom's, I decide that I will make a baby birthday hat for my grandson who will be born any time now. I don't usually do crafts at Mom's so I am not sure why I decided I would. Anyway, I am trying to make a pattern for this hat & Mom offers me a ruler to use. I use it, pass it to her, she flips it over and reads...Suzanne?...and I am thinking in my head..."if she says her last name, I will be freaked out". Anyway, it has Suzanne's full name written in faded large black print & underneath her name is the name "Brenda" written in pen with smaller print. I was thinking..."oh my god". Mom said she never paid attention to anything on the back of it. It was just a ruler that she had shoved in her knitting basket & it is likely close to 45 years old. Is that a "spiritual gift"?? I think it is just really cool & I love when things like that happen. Funny part is when I call my sister (which I had to do right away when we found the name) & the first thing she says is "Oh my god, I must've stolen her ruler".....family...they kill me...LOL

Oh No, My Lucky Bamboo!!!!!

I hope this isn't a bad sign...my poor "lucky bamboo". I moved it to get more natural light. I hope that helps. I find it interesting that the manager where I work bought this for me & she recently left for a new position. The plant seemed fine until she left.....??????...which was less than a week ago (insert scary music here)

Shower Sandwiches...what's the deal?

I love shower sandwiches. I think a lot of people do. I wonder if it has anything to do with being a kid, watching your Mom make awesome sandwiches to take to someone else's house?...boo!!! Funny, what you remember. My husband loves shower sandwiches too and is usually buzzing around the kitchen (coincidentally) every time I make them. He always says he has to make sure they are good enough for the guests. Someone has to do it!!!! Also, if I attend a shower he wants to know if I had any of these little darlings & better yet, did I put any in my purse to bring home to him? Every once in a bit I make him a "shower sandwich" as a treat...lol

"Oh How Pinteresting!!!"

Haven't had a post in a while. I have to admit I have been kind of wrapped up in a few things...one of them being getting ready for a new baby in the family. This brings up the whole "Pinterest" thing. When I first saw the word "pinterest" on a blog I actually had no idea what it even meant. I had to "google" it...lol. Anyway, I am hooked. For those of you who have been hiding under a rock & haven't heard of Pinterest..teehee...it is an online pinboard. You can basically look up any topic, find amazing photos, links to blogs, websites...like searching through magazines of all of your favourite pictures. You create pinboards (if you wish) and I would say these pinboards are like having an online "vision board" - in my opinion. Anyway, if you haven't joined, it is kind of fun. I made a lot of decorations for the baby shower, learned how to make a photography backdrop (& made one), pinned tons of photography ideas....& on and on it goes.

I watched this a few years back. I found it fascinating & have actually watched it more than once. I also have the book. I used to think I was a witch (a good one)but now I understand that there is something about the way I think. I believe that to be true but understand that not everyone does. Tune in if you like. Even if you just take one thing away from watching this movie; it will be worth it.
